Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Supervisory experience required.
- Four years related work experience or completion of approved, accredited trade school program or apprenticeship preferred.
- Certification or licensing of one of the following is preferred: Plumbing, HVAC, Air Conditioning, or Electrician.
- Certification of successful completion of FEMA National Incident Management ICS100 & ICS 200 preferred completion within the first 90 days of employment.
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
- Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.
- Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to health care facilities, SDS information, Life Safety Code, NFPA, OSHA, and ADA requirements and specifications
- Knowledge of standards and procedures regarding hazardous waste and materials.
- Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
- Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others.

Responsibilities
The Director of Facilities Management is the individual with primary responsibility for the daily operation and maintenance of hospital buildings, grounds, and mechanical/electrical systems, while ensuring compliance with all local, state, NFPA, OSHA and Joint Commission regulations and standards. Interacts with other department heads to ensure safe and efficient operations. Hires, trains, supervises and terminates building service personnel. Serves as the hospital’s Safety Officer with authority to take immediate action if current conditions threaten safety, health or life. Responsible for managing all aspects of the Emergency Management Program. Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.
