Job SummaryThe Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for assisting in the design, development, and optimization of transformers and related components. As an intermediate-level engineer, the Electrical Design role involves applying developing expertise to contribute to projects and tasks under the guidance of more senior engineers. This role includes collaboration with cross-functional teams and opportunities to develop technical skills. The Electrical Design Engineer plays a key role in supporting design initiatives and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

This role will be onsite in Dyersburg, TN. Relocation Assistance is available.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of transformers or related components, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA) and customer specifications.
• Conduct basic engineering analyses to support product performance, cost optimization, and efficiency improvements.
• Support failure analysis on design-related issues under the supervision of senior engineers, contributing to identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure successful integration of designs into production.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical support to ensure designs meet project and customer requirements.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including design specifications and test plans, under supervision.
• Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes to assist in maintaining competitive and compliant designs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting efforts to improve processes and product designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on transformer or related product design.
• Proficiency with basic design and analysis tools, including electrical, and thermal analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks).
• Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., VB .Net, C , SQL) and database management tools (e.g., MySQL)
• Ability to interact with, maintain, and update ERP system data related to engineering processes.
• Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements for transformers or components.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and apply technical knowledge under supervision.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
