Responsibilities
Position responsibilities as follows:
- Prepare finished transformers and components for shipment by selecting appropriate packaging materials and methods.
- Secure products using straps, shrink wrap, crates, or pallets to ensure safe transportation.
- Apply correct labels, shipping tags, and documentation according to customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Inspect packaged items for accuracy and quality before release to shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized packaging area and comply with safety standards.
- Operate packaging equipment and tools safely and perform routine checks as needed.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality concerns and provide feedback for process improvements.
- Collaborate with shipping and production teams to meet delivery schedules and resolve packaging issues promptly.
- Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.
- Helps manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
- Collaborates and communicates with Warehouse Supervisor, logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Updates Warehouse Supervisor of the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, inventory, and counting accurately.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.
Physical Requirements:
- Bending, twisting, stooping, and pulling.
- Be able to stand for long periods at a time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Position contingent on passing all applicable fit for duty requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or quality-related certification preferred.
- Experience in packaging or shipping within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and shipping instructions.
- Basic knowledge of packaging materials and methods for heavy industrial products
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items safely (up to 50 lbs).
- 6 months logistics experience.
- Forklift Certification within 90 days of job entry date.
