Role Overview
The Principal Technical Consultant will lead the implementation and optimization of environmental management systems (EMS) across diverse enterprise applications. This role requires deep expertise in solution architecture, technical delivery, and project management, with a focus on environmental regulatory compliance and digital transformation. The consultant will guide cross-functional teams through process alignment, system design, development, and deployment, ensuring operational excellence and strategic execution for large, complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture and technical delivery for EMS implementations.
- Guide cross-functional teams in process alignment, system design, and deployment.
- Coordinate and document meetings; prepare project communications, training materials, and requirements documentation.
- Translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Facilitate workshops and drive operational excellence through best practices.
- Manage project planning, tracking, and risk register development.
- Provide strategic guidance and support across multiple workstreams.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to program roadmaps and long-term vision for EMS projects.
Required Qualifications
- University degree holder in an environmental or technical field such as Environmental Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Theoretical Business.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Environmental Information Systems, Oil & Gas, Chemical, and IT sectors.
- Proven experience as a Team Lead or Technical Lead in enterprise software projects.
- Cority, Enablon, Sphera (OpsInfo/Essential/Core to Cloud), Workiva, and other EHS&S software systems knowledge and education/professional experience a plus but not required.
- Diversified information technology background and knowledge of EHS software, methodologies, domains, and technology an advantage but not required. (Air emission inventories, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Environmental Compliance, Industrial Hygiene and Safety, Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Audit Management, Incident Management & Risk Assessment)
