Job Summary
Erlanger Children's Hospital is currently seeking a dedicated NP/PA to join our C-HEAL team. The NP/PA will play a key role in the multidisciplinary team at the Childhood- Healthy Eating and Active Living center, a program dedicated to addressing childhood obesity. C-HEAL provides specialized care for children who have not responded to early intervention efforts or who require long-term management of obesity-related co-morbidities.
The NP/PA will be responsible for delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care, including conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, managing chronic conditions, and providing education and support to patients and their families. This role requires a strong commitment to preventative health, lifestyle medicine and collaborative care.
Required Education
RN with a Master's Degree in nursing certification in family and/or pediatric nurse practitioner. Graduate of a nationally accredited school of nursing.
Preferred Experience
Minimum 3 years working in Pediatrics

Required
Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee. Eligibility to sit for certification in area of specialty
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Department Position Summary
A nurse practitioner or physician assistant will work under direction of the physicians/medical director. He/She will be responsible for developing evidence based protocols and utilizing them to develop an individualized plan of care. He/She must be able to collect, document, and analyze patient data. They must be able to collaborate with the health care team in the development and implementation of testing and treatment according to protocols. He/She must be able to participate in development and implementation health screening program for children, adolescents and adults, and develop protocols for identification of high-risk individuals. He/She must participate in community and corporate education to follow the Michigan Model of Comprehensive Health Education.
The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over their life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. He/She must interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures. This is done through evaluation of direct supervisor by direct observation, in a skills lab, or discussed verbally or written. Competency can also be evaluated by a formal peer review process and/or by self assessment based on objective criteria that is reviewed and validated.
