Nurse Tech - Labor & Delivery - PRN

Job Summary: />Performs selected nursing functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. A non-licensed healthcare provider employed by Erlanger who is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient. /> />Education: />Required: />Will consider a nursing student (RN or LPN) within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing program. /> />Preferred: />N/A /> />Experience: />Required: />Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills. Medical background required. /> />Preferred: />N/A /> />Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration />Required: />BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward. De-escalation training. /> />Preferred: />N/A /> />Department Position Summary: />The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in Labor & Delivery. The employee must not give any medications, including pain pills, any injections, insulin, or provide eye ointment or vaccines to any newborn.
