LOCATION: Hybrid: Rowley, MA and field travel as needed

Position Overview
The Service Technician is responsible for field installations, service, and maintenance of Erlab’s filtration and containment systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and customer expectations. During non‑field periods or downtime, this role supports light facility maintenance tasks to keep the workplace safe, efficient, and orderly.
Key Responsibilities
Field Installation & Service
· Assemble, install, and commission Erlab filtration, ductless fume hood, and containment systems at customer sites
· Calibrate, validate, and perform safety checks consistent with Erlab protocols and industry best practices
· Conduct preventive maintenance, filter replacement, and field service calls
· Troubleshoot equipment issues; provide corrective service or escalate as needed
· Provide user training on system operation, safety, and maintenance procedures
· Document all service activities, installation checklists, calibration records, and customer sign‐off forms
· Maintain professional conduct and represent Erlab positively while onsite
Facility Maintenance & Ancillary Duties
· Routine inspections and servicing of facility equipment (e.g. HVAC filters, lighting, exhaust fans)
· Replace bulbs, filters, and consumables in facility systems
· Basic repairs or adjustments (e.g. door hardware, cabinetry, shelving, plumbing fixtures)
· Maintain and organize workshop, tool rooms, and storage areas
· Assist with housekeeping, cleaning, painting, and facility upkeep
· Report larger repair or safety issues to maintenance or facility management
Other Responsibilities
· Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, and spare parts
· Load and unload service vans as needed
· Travel (overnight or multi-day) to support broader geographic projects
· Respond to remote support calls or field escalation requests
· Participate in safety programs, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 2 years of technical service, equipment installation, or field service experience
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
· Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs, climb ladders, stand for long periods, bend, kneel, and climb as required
· Strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostics, and troubleshooting skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to travel up to ~75% at time (or as needed for project schedules)
Preferred Skills
· Experience in laboratory, air-filtration, clean-air, or containment systems environment
· Knowledge of safety, air-handling, or HVAC systems
· Understanding of calibration, validation, and regulatory / safety compliance
· Electrical, plumbing, or general facility trades exposure
Working Conditions
· Field work may include customer labs, industrial sites, or research facilities
· Exposure to chemicals, fumes, confined spaces, elevated surfaces, and strict safety protocols
· Facility shop work in a manufacturing or assembly environment
· Travel by car, van, or air; overnight stays when necessary
