Duties
- Lead daily operations on construction sites, supervising subcontractors, tradespeople, and vendors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software, tracking progress and adjusting timelines as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to verify work aligns with project specifications.
- Manage project budgets by monitoring costs, reviewing contracts, and coordinating with estimators using HeavyBid or comparable estimating tools.
- Enforce safety protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to promote a safe working environment.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure construction work meets all standards and specifications; perform routine site inspections.
- Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery through effective communication with suppliers.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including daily reports, incident logs, change orders, and progress updates.
- Collaborate closely with project managers on contract administration, scope changes, and project scheduling adjustments.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore or Bluebeam for project documentation, RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and punch lists.
- Supervise site activities related to pipeline installation or heavy civil works as applicable; ensure adherence to schematics and technical requirements.
- Use tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing when required; oversee electrical installations in accordance with technical specifications.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction site supervision with a strong background in heavy civil or commercial projects.
- Extensive knowledge of construction management practices including scheduling (Primavera P6), budgeting, contracts management, and quality control.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HeavyBid; ability to adapt quickly to new digital tools.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating techniques.
