Duties
- Assist client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods or manual handling techniques.
- Monitor and observe patients’ conditions closely, noting vital signs, changes in health status, or behavioral shifts, especially neurodevelopmental disorder.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation.
- Support client with personal transportation needs for appointments, errands, or community activities to promote social engagement and independence.
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient progress, and any incidents in compliance with healthcare standards and home & community care regulations.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning living areas, laundry, and ensuring a safe environment that respects client’s rights and promotes comfort.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a caregiver in home health, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes; experience with long-term care preferred.
- Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and first aid/CPR certification.
- Familiarity with memory care strategies, physical and cognitive exercises recommended by therapists, and managing people with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to assist with manual transfers in and out of wheelchair when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams; understanding of individual’s rights and HIPAA compliance.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for client outings or appointments; experience providing personal transportation assistance is a plus.
- Compassionate attitude combined with physical stamina to perform manual handling tasks and assist clients with mobility challenges.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 34.0 per week
