Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Carpenter to oversee and coordinate various construction and restoration projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, construction estimating, and site management, with the ability to lead teams effectively on diverse projects. This role offers an opportunity to work on challenging projects within the construction industry, utilizing a wide range of skills including blueprint reading, heavy lifting, and the use of power tools. The Lead Carpenter will ensure project quality, safety compliance, and timely completion while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate construction and restoration projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide project execution.
- Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, CNC equipment, and fabrication techniques to complete tasks such as framing, drywall installation, siding, roofing, flooring, tile laying, and fixture installation.
- Manage material procurement and estimate project costs accurately for budgeting purposes.
- Lead team members in tasks such as rebar installation, concrete forming, masonry work, plumbing, electrical wiring, plastering, stucco application, water damage restoration, mold remediation, and framing.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed on-site; enforce heavy lifting procedures and proper handling of equipment.
- Coordinate with clients and project managers to schedule work phases and deliver quality results within deadlines.
- Maintain detailed documentation of project progress and communicate updates effectively to stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and training to team members in specialized skills like carpentry (including trim carpentry), cabinetry installation, door hanging, remodeling, restoration techniques, and construction painting.
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction estimating and blueprint reading.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
- Strong background in carpentry disciplines including frame carpentry, trim carpentry, cabinet installation, door hanging, framing, and woodworking.
- Knowledge of roofing systems, siding installation, flooring installation (tile or other materials), drywall finishing, fixture installation, and remodeling processes.
- Experience with water damage restoration, mold remediation, plumbing systems, electrical wiring (including schematics), masonry work (including concrete forming), rebar installation, and general construction site management.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while managing large or cumbersome materials.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical or plumbing systems; ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Skills in plastering , caulking , water damage restoration , fixture installation , roofing , siding , restoration industry experience , cabinetry , remodeling , flooring , tile laying , electrical experience , metal stud framing , CNC operation , assembly , mold remediation , plumbing , masonry , construction painting .
