Instructional Aide – SAA2

Position Description:
Instructional Aides support student success by working with individuals and small groups in both school-based and community settings. Under the guidance of instructors, aides help students develop career and technical skills, reinforce classroom learning, and build independence in real-world environments.
Erie County Technical School is currently seeking Instructional Aides to support students across our 20 Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Opportunities are also available within our Special Education Transition Program, where aides assist students in developing workplace readiness as they prepare for post-secondary education, employment, and community participation.
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma required; Paraprofessional Certification preferred (training provided by ECTS if needed).
Instructional Aides will do the following:
1. Assist teachers and students with assignments and “hands-on” instruction, including field-based learning experiences, as directed by the teacher and administration.
2. Learn the challenges faced by students who have special needs and make accommodations and modifications to support their success in areas such as literacy, math, study skills, and problem solving.
3. Consistently assist in monitoring, motivating, and training students, including field-based learning experiences.
4. Build relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners.
5. Assist with program specific and school-wide test preparation and administration.
6. Provide for the best care, safety, welfare, and security of the students in our care.
This position is contracted for 25 hours per week at $20.20 per hour (less .25 during 120 day probationary period per the contract).
You must have or be willing to obtain Act 34, Act 114, Act 151 Clearances, complete required trainings for Act 126 (mandatory reporting), and process disclosures for Act 168 and Act 24.
