WIC Certifying Health Professional- RN or Dietitian

RN or Dietician Opportunity Available- Full or Part Time

The Erie County Health Department and Erie County Community Health Center seek an RN or Dietitian to join our WIC Team. We are a public health department and federally qualified health center located on the shores of Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio, offering a collaborative work environment, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to positively impact community health.

This position supports the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) in Erie and Huron Counties. Under the guidance of the WIC Services Program Director, the Certifying Health Professional certifies and recertifies participants, assigns food packages, provides nutrition counseling, sets nutritional goals, offers breastfeeding support, leads outreach, and coordinates referrals.

Qualifications:

• Registered Dietician (RD), Licensed Dietician (LD) or Registered Nurse (RN); must be licensed and registered in the state of Ohio.
• Prefer counseling experience in child and maternal nutrition and breastfeeding.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license, current certificate of vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation to all assigned work locations. ·
• National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (ICS) 100.c, 700.b, and 200.c certifications within one month of employment.
