Job Description
The Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus Community College (PRODiG CC) program is an initiative supported by SUNY system aiming to:
Faculty teach department courses and evaluate student performance pursuant to guidelines set by the department and the College. Faculty report to the Department Chair within the Academic Unit. Faculty are responsible for preparing lessons and student learning activities. Faculty must maintain accurate records on students and submit pertinent data to the department and/or the College.
Typical Work Activities
Please also submit an essay of 750 words or less in response to the following prompt: Please describe how youve engaged, facilitated, and/or enhanced diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community. Examples could include personal, academic, and/or work experience and may include, but is not limited to, an academic/scholarly track record focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion; work, volunteer/unpaid/community service; or related experience/expertise in serving underserved or vulnerable areas and/or populations.

The Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus Community College (PRODiG CC) program is an initiative supported by SUNY system aiming to:
- Increase the number and share of excellent diverse community college faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion by hiring qualified candidates directly into tenure-track positions to support the community colleges efforts to build an educated workforce in the state.
- Strengthen the pipeline for retention and support of these candidate. Candidates hired into a PRODiG CC role will receive additional faculty mentorship and professional development funds to support their professional growth.

Typical Work Activities
- Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom situations
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of students
- Capability to teach a wide range of related subjects
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a combination of days/evening/weekend schedules
- Remains current with subject matter and instructional methodology
- Plans and teaches courses that fulfill the current curriculum goals and objectives
- Communicates progress in the course to students in a timely manner
- Provides classroom and laboratory instruction in industrial maintenance: particularly in robotics and instrumentation, mechanics, fluid power, electricity, and other assigned courses
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is required.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
- Minimum of 5 years industrial experience is required.
