Minimum Qualifications
- NYS Elementary Certification in students with Disabilities 1-6 required.
- Ability to use instructional Technology to improve student performance and address professional responsibilities.
- Skill in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and families) to ensure cohesive and student-centered programming.
- Ability to create a structured, supportive classroom environment that uses positive behavior supports and meets the diverse cognitive, social, and sensory needs of students.
- Experience designing and implementing individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals, with a strong emphasis on functional academics, communication, and daily living skills.
- Understand IEP mandates and assessment protocols.
- Proven ability to read, implement, collect data on, and adjust goals in IEP's.
- Familiarity with a variety of special education teaching models.
- Familiarity working with students with disabilities.
- Having CPI training preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to use positive behavior management strategies and support a positive classroom environment.
