Position Overview
Responsibilities
- Design prototype fixtures, concept designs, test coupons, and mechanical assemblies in SolidWorks
- Fabricate and iterate prototypes using rapid prototyping and external machine shops
- Execute lab bring-up of new fixtures and test platforms; own first-article validation
- Perform surface profiling, substrate warpage, and TTV measurements
- Set up and run pressure mapping, electromigration, and compression characterization tests
- Document test procedures, measurement data, and failure analyses
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered)
- Able to work full-time on-site in Saratoga CA
- Proficient in SolidWorks — 3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, GD&T
- Demonstrated hands-on rapid prototyping experience (FDM, SLA, CNC, or equivalent)
- Practical lab skills: instrumentation setup, data acquisition, measurement
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with precision mechanical systems or semiconductor packaging hardware
- Surface metrology tools (profilometers, confocal microscopes)
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Python for data analysis or automation
- Background in thermo-mechanical analysis or substrate/PCB fabrication
