The worker will operate a variety of agricultural equipment to support grain farming activities throughout the seasonal cycle. In early spring, duties include preparing fields for planting by operating tractors, cultivators, and other machinery. The worker will mix and load specified materials such as fertilizers, chemicals, or seed into sprayers or planters and calibrate equipment accordingly. During planting and growing seasons, responsibilities involve operating equipment for irrigation, fertilization, and crop maintenance, including weed and pest control. The worker must perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure functionality and safe operation. In the fall, primary duties include operating combines and trucks for harvesting, transporting crops from fields to storage facilities, and performing post-harvest cleanup. The role also includes loading and unloading harvested grain, cleaning and servicing equipment, and following safety protocols. The worker may assist in general farm labor as needed during downtime, including building and equipment upkeep, grounds maintenance, and other related tasks. The schedule and workload will vary with the seasonal demands and regional climate. The position requires prior experience in similar grain farming operations and the ability to safely operate large machinery in various field conditions. Proficiency in English is beneficial for safety and communication.
