Manual Machinist

We are looking for a Manual Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in operating and maintaining a variety of manual machining tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses. A successful candidate will be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings, as well as use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy. We are a custom design shop for operator assisted lifting devices, so there is plenty of variety in day-to-day activities. We need strong machining skills and are looking for a smart and motivated person interested in expanding their skillset.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment.
• Set up and adjust machines to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
• Perform quality checks on finished products.
• Account for material inventory and order more when necessary.
• Possible operation of CNC equipment.
  
  

Experience

• Prior work experience as a machinist on a manual lathe and Bridgeport style machine.
• Able to hold tolerance of /- .001.
• Self-motivated with a drive to complete tasks on time and learn new skills.
• Quality driven and safety focused.
• Exposure or experience with CNC equipment a plus.
  
  

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods standing and performing tasks.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Ability to frequently walk, climb, kneel, bend, reach overhead, push, pull, and use a ladder or stool.
• Frequently exposed to heat, cold, and noise.
• Must have manual dexterity in order to produce parts or components.
• Must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
