Job Role: Shop Supervisor
Location: Ennis, TX

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Maintain and execute the department's vision, strategy, and goals.
- Develop, mentor, and support Millwrights and Operations Coordinators.
- Oversee onboarding and training for new hires.
- Promote a positive, high‑performance culture focused on teamwork and engagement.
- Build and adjust weekly work schedules to meet business unit maintenance needs.
- Coordinate personnel, parts, and resources for planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Manage shop workflow, including equipment, layout, budgeting, parts, and supplies.
- Oversee work order lifecycle within SAP, MaintainX, and Work Order Dashboard tools.
- Support Engineering teams, including Plant Support and Project Engineers.
- Lead safety programs that promote safe work practices and a strong safety culture.
- Manage compliance inspections for cranes, rigging, forklifts, eyewash stations, PPE, and more.
- Ensure DOT and safe‑driving compliance using Samsara tools.
- Maintain shop, office, and fleet cleanliness and organization.
- Provide technical assistance to Operations and respond to breakdowns as needed.
- Analyze inspection and failure records and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate and support preventative maintenance needs for plant equipment.
- Perform duties such as parts receiving, inventory management, PO generation, and invoice processing.
- Create and update SAP equipment files and maintain accurate equipment location records.
- Communicate with suppliers and machine shops to ensure quality and timely service.
- Identify inefficiencies and lead improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, tooling evaluations, data tracking).
- Implement and manage MaintainX for work orders, procedures, compliance programs, and inventory.
- Provide on‑call support as needed.
- Travel required, including out‑of‑town and overnight assignments.
- Other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Required
- 7 years of industrial maintenance experience OR a bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, or construction plus 2 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem‑solve creatively and strategically
- Working knowledge of:
- Mechanical repairs
- Welding
- Pipefitting
- Carpentry
- Instrumentation & electrical
- Proficiency with SAP Plant Maintenance, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to give and receive feedback professionally
- Valid driver's license; ability to pass drug screen, background check, and MVR
- Ability to work for extended periods in job‑site environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, squat, climb ladders and stairs, crouch, and reach
- Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind)
