Ergon - West Virginia, Inc. in Newell, WV currently has an opening for a Facility Maintenance Technician.
The Facility Maintenance Technician provides support for the refinery in all areas of construction, alteration, maintenance and repair of the facilities and buildings.

Facility Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Reads, understands, and works off drawings.
- Completes work orders and properly documents all repairs.
- Operates hand tools and power tools.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair refinery equipment and systems.
- General plumbing maintenance and repairs.
- Qualified rigger and assist equipment operators.
- Operate backhoe, skid steer, vacuum truck and other facility equipment.
- Perform monthly safety inspections.
- Perform general carpentry maintenance and finish work.
- Make general repairs to facility buildings, interior and exterior spaces.
- Performs miscellaneous painting.
- Assists in performance of preventive maintenance on refinery equipment.
- Assist all groups in the Maintenance department.
- Perform related duties that support the overall objective of the position.
- Performs on-call duties as required.
- Always keep safe work habits as the highest priority
- Always maintains a clean and well-organized workspace
- Strives to develop good working relationships with all co-workers, contractors, and associates.
Facility Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
- Previous experience with equipment in an industrial operations setting such as refining, chemical or manufacturing is desired.
- General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, framing and masonry.
- Read and interpret drawings, sketches and blueprints.
- Must be able to work from an elevated platform, in a confined space and in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs is beneficial.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and be on call as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license must be maintained
- Strong communication skills required including written and verbal
- Computer proficiency
- Safety conscious and able to work in a team environment.
