- Work in a team to bake pastries from scratch, following carefully crafted recipes to maintain Erewhon product standards.
- Lead a team of about 10 bakers to meet daily production needs.
- Assist in scheduling team to meet business needs.
- Ensure the department meets production needs by delegating tasks to the team.
- Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make pastries and bread.
- Assist the team in creating new recipes, and train the team on how to produce the new products.
- Testing ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality control.
- Assist with pastry and bakery production, maintaining cleanliness and appropriate supplies stocked.
- Creatively decorate pastries and bakery products.
- Ensure the highest quality of product is produced at all times and in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- At least 1 year of management experience.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a fast paced baking environment required.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to work the PM shift.
- Knowledge of utilizing deck ovens, rack ovens, and proofers.
- Availability to work late afternoons and evenings.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Great communication skills and work ethic.
