Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior AI Agent Developer based in Charlottesville, VA. The individual will design, develop, and implement AI-powered agents and machine learning models with a focus on solving real-world problems. Responsibilities include working with neural networks, building and implementing robust algorithms, conducting research in natural language processing (NLP), and participating in software development projects that integrate AI functionalities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to refine AI solutions and contribute to the development of innovative tools is critical for this role.
Basic Qualifications
- Strong background in Computer Science and proficiency in Software Development
- Experience with Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition
- Proficiency in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and familiarity with its practical applications
- Problem-solving skills and capability to design scalable AI solutions
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Previous experience leading AI or software development projects is a plus
What You Will Do
- Design and build custom AI agents and multi-agent systems tailored to each client's business needs
- Develop agentic workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, and AutoGen
- Integrate agents with client systems, APIs, databases, and third-party tools
- Build and manage RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines for knowledge-grounded agents
- Instrument agents with observability, logging, and evaluation frameworks to monitor performance in production
- Translate client business requirements into clear technical architectures and implementation plans
- Collaborate with the founder on scoping, estimating, and delivering client engagements
- Document agent logic, workflows, and integration points clearly for handoff and maintenance
What We Are Looking For
- 3 or more years of experience building production AI applications, with at least 1 year focused specifically on agentic systems
- Hands-on expertise with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar agentic frameworks
- Strong Python development skills
- Experience with LLM APIs including OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source models
- Familiarity with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or Chroma
- Experience integrating with REST APIs, webhooks, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field is highly preferred
- Ability to take a business problem and independently design an agent architecture to solve it
- Strong written communication skills for client-facing documentation and async collaboration
Nice to Have
- Experience with HuggingFace model deployment
- Familiarity with Tableau or data visualization for surfacing agent insights
- Background in B2B SaaS or consulting environments
- Experience building agents for customer success, product analytics, or software quality use cases
