ER of Lufkin is seeking an experienced, clinically confident emergency room physician to deliver high-quality emergency care in our 24/7 freestanding ER in Lufkin, TX. We're recruiting physicians who can reliably work on-site and ideally live within 30–50 miles, including Nacogdoches, Diboll, Huntington, Corrigan, Trinity, Crockett, Center, and Livingston.
You'll lead care for the full range of acute illnesses, injuries, and trauma in a fast-paced environment while providing concierge-level attention to every walk-in patient, working closely with nurses, mid-level providers, radiology, lab, and facility leadership.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate, diagnose, treat, stabilize, observe, discharge, or transfer adult and pediatric patients as clinically appropriate
- Manage acute presentations including chest pain, respiratory distress, abdominal pain, trauma, fractures, infections, and neurologic symptoms
- Serve as the clinical leader during assigned shifts and supervise mid-level providers per Texas law and facility policy
- Manage short-term observation care (capped at 23 hours) in line with Texas freestanding ER requirements
- Complete accurate, timely EHR documentation, including CPT/ICD coding
- Participate in on-call, back-up, and peak-time coverage as needed
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
- Current DEA registration
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (ATLS preferred)
- Strong emergency medicine, trauma, urgent care, or acute care experience
- Ability to independently manage adult and pediatric emergency patients
Preferred Qualifications
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
- Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Surgery physicians with strong ER experience may be considered
- Previous freestanding ER experience
- Experience supervising mid-level providers
