Floating Career Advisor

Join our FSET team as a Floating Career Advisor, where you'll play a critical role in transforming lives through career coaching, workforce development, and participant advocacy. This dynamic position offers variety, flexibility, and the opportunity to serve participants across multiple workforce center locations while collaborating with a dedicated team committed to helping individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency.

As a Floating Career Advisor, you will provide career coaching, case management, and operational support across multiple sites to ensure participants receive consistent, high-quality services wherever they engage with our program. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building relationships, and is motivated by making a measurable impact in the communities they serve. 

Key Responsibilities

Participant Career Coaching & Case Management

• Build professional and trusting relationships with participants to identify strengths, barriers, and career goals while supporting their journey toward sustainable employment. 

  Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized employment and service plans tailored to participant needs and program requirements. 

• Provide ongoing case management, coaching, and follow-up to support participant engagement, progress, and successful outcomes. 

• Connect participants to training opportunities, supportive services, community resources, and career pathways aligned with their goals. 

• Document participant activities, case notes, and outcomes accurately and timely in accordance with program requirements and compliance standards. 

Multi-Site Service Delivery & Operational Support

• Serve as a Floating Career Advisor providing direct client services, case management, and operational support across multiple workforce center locations based on program and staffing needs.

• Travel regularly between assigned office locations to ensure continuity of services, maintain participant engagement, provide site coverage, and support organizational goals and customer needs.
• Quickly adapt to varying office environments and support teams in maintaining exceptional service delivery.
• Ensure consistent participant experiences, compliance standards, and program quality across all assigned locations.
• Support special projects, staff coverage needs, operational initiatives, and program implementation efforts as assigned by leadership.
• Share best practices, resources, and successful engagement strategies across locations to support continuous improvement.

Program Excellence

• Maintain detailed participant records and documentation to support compliance, reporting, and performance outcomes. 

  Assist with program reporting, data collection, and performance tracking activities. ​​

• Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and team collaboration opportunities. 

• Identify participant challenges and implement creative solutions that promote engagement, retention, and successful employment outcomes. 

• Provide operational support for compliance-driven standards and center activities as needed. 

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, Counseling, Workforce Development, Communications, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

• Minimum two years of experience in career coaching, workforce development, employment services, case management, education, or a related field.  

• Strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills. 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail. 

• Strong written documentation and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. 

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel frequently between assigned locations.
• Commitment to participant success, workforce equity, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Preferred

• Experience working in SNAP E&T, FSET, WIOA, TANF, workforce development, or other grant-funded employment programs.
• Knowledge of labor market trends, career pathways, and community resources.
• Experience supporting individuals facing employment barriers.
• Bilingual language skills.
• Experience working across multiple locations or supporting geographically dispersed teams.
