Equix Energy Services is an energy and utilities contractor that provides high-quality pipeline and facility construction services. At Equix, we support our customers and stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all of our services, which include: pipeline construction, gas distribution, horizontal directional drilling, facility construction and fabrication, and trenching services. Our team has a current opening for a Project Manager, with a focus in estimation and bid experience. This opportunity is a full-time, exempt role that will be hybrid, with the expectation to travel to the office and work sites.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects of a construction project including: project scheduling and coordination with owners, general contractor, subcontractors, material suppliers, and other trades.
- Responsible for timely deliveries of required submittals, project restrictions, phasing and staging
- Responsible for the pursuit of new bid opportunities through bid invites, solicitation websites, and exchanges
- Reviewing project documents, specifications, addenda to fully understand bid requirements.
- Download, file, print, and organize bid information and maintain the current set of bid documents.
- Detailed take-off for scope of work required.
- Create detailed project schedules based on the scope of work and customer requirements
- Lead weekly progress meetings while serving as a primary point of contact for client and stakeholders
- The determination of material, equipment, and subcontractor requirements in order to solicit and coordinate such pricing.
- The preparation of competitive estimates and bid proposals for submission to the client.
- Attending pre-bid meetings, field visits, and bid openings as required.
- Attending site visits during construction as required.
- Assess project risk
- Responsible for equipment selection, staffing and productivity.
- Managing financial oversight; estimating, budget review, change orders, billing and overall profit/loss reporting.
- Maintaining project records, time-cards, daily productions, documentation and correspondence to management
- Coordinating tool and equipment tracking and subsequent deliveries
- Obtaining required permits
- Manage multiple bids and deadlines associated
- Prepare bid submissions and supporting deliverables
- Work closely with Superintendents and field crews ensuring they have clear scope and direction by supporting with problem solving and decision making
- Other duties as assigned, that may also be extended to other Equix, Inc. companies
Qualifications
- Prior knowledge of basic construction applications, terminologies, means, and methods is desired.
- Ability to read and understand utility plans, specifications, and other bid documents.
- Engineering degree or 5 years’ experience in Construction or a related field required.
- Display an uncompromising focus on safety by properly following company policies and OSHA/MSHA/DOT/DEQ regulations for safe working procedures and protection of the environment.
- Technical literacy expectations -- B2W, Microsoft Office Suite, HCSS, and Viewpoint experience preferred
- Must have the ability to travel the United States
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
- Be willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
- Researching and estimating prospective projects
- Assist in building and maintaining positive relationships with new and current customers
- Responsible for promoting a safety culture for all employees within the region
- Will efficiently manage and coordinate various project
- Provide direction, instruction and supervision to field supervisor and crews
- Timely submittal of documents and adherence to all company policies and procedures
