As a Service Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring residents enjoy a well-maintained and welcoming home:
Leading, coaching and developing a team of service professionals
Ensuring service requests are completed promptly, professionally and to Equity Residential standards
Supporting and stepping in on hands-on maintenance when needed - electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, painting, repairs and more
Overseeing preparation of market-ready apartments and maintaining common areas and grounds
Managing scheduled maintenance, inspections and preventative maintenance programmes
Handling emergency response, on-call duties and special maintenance projects
Partnering with the Community Manager on budgets, capital projects, planning and operational improvements
Ensuring compliance with all federal and state housing laws, safety requirements and company policies

What You'll Need To Thrive
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong hands-on maintenance experience across plumbing, electrical, appliances, HVAC, interior repairs and painting
Experience leading, coaching or supervising maintenance staff (or clear leadership potential)
Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws and safe working practices
Valid driver's licence, good driving record, auto insurance and reliable transportation
Confident use of smartphones and maintenance software, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Flexibility to work any assigned shift, including weekends, and availability for emergency on-call duties
Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, kneel, crouch, shovel, and perform a wide range of physical tasks
Own smartphone for certain job duties, compliant with company security requirements
