Job Summary:
We are seeking a packaging engineer to develop, implement, and optimize packaging solutions using sustainable materials. This role requires balancing function, cost-effectiveness, and compliance, with an added focus on minimizing environmental impact. Their responsibilities primarily occur in a manufacturing or production plant setting.
About the Role:
Work directly with the manufacturing department to ensure that new packaging designs and materials can be efficiently integrated into existing production lines and machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute packaging line trials to validate performance and manufacturability before full-scale production.
- This includes monitoring for material scrap and product damage.
- Part of a fully integrated cross-functional team, working closely with R&D Platforms, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, and Marketing.
- Re-launching a brand and advancing those priorities.
- Development projects, starting up the production line, improving packaging to run more efficiently.
- Conduct and manage commissioning, start-up, supplier experiments, trials, and analyses to validate and advance technical packaging.
- Partner with supplier resources against key initiatives.
- Product commercialization process from packaging design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or related field
- 5 years of Package Engineering preferably in the Food & Beverage, FMCG or related industry.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and processes.
- Experience with sustainable packaging solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the Food & Beverage or FMCG industry.
- Knowledge of packaging design software.
