Equity Medical is a rapidly growing multi-site clinical research organization conducting Phase II–IV clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas including dermatology, allergy/immunology, respiratory, metabolic, rheumatology, and neurology. We are seeking an experienced Research Pharmacy Technician to support investigational product management and clinical trial pharmacy operations in New York City.
This role is intended for candidates with strong investigational drug services (IDS), hospital pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, or clinical research experience who are comfortable working in a highly regulated clinical trial environment.
Position SummaryThe Research Pharmacy Technician will support day-to-day investigational product operations including receipt, storage, preparation, dispensing, accountability, reconciliation, and documentation of study medications across clinical trials. This individual will work closely with investigators, sponsors, CROs, coordinators, and regulatory personnel to ensure compliance with protocol requirements, FDA regulations, GCP guidelines, and site SOPs.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex investigational product workflows in a fast-paced research environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage investigational product receipt, inventory, labeling, storage, dispensing, and reconciliation activities
- Maintain accurate drug accountability logs, temperature monitoring documentation, and regulatory records
- Support protocol-specific randomization, blinding/unblinding procedures, and chain-of-custody documentation
- Coordinate sponsor shipments, drug returns, and destruction activities
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, GCP, ICH guidelines, sponsor requirements, and internal SOPs
- Prepare and dispense investigational products according to protocol specifications
- Support sponsor monitoring visits, audits, and regulatory inspections
- Collaborate closely with Clinical Research Coordinators, Investigators, Sponsors, CROs, and Regulatory teams
- Utilize CTMS, IRT/IxRS, EDC, and related clinical trial systems
- Maintain pharmacy inspection readiness and support quality improvement initiatives
- Assist with workflow development and investigational product oversight as the organization continues to expand
- Active New York State Pharmacy Technician registration required
- Active CPhT certification preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of pharmacy technician experience required
- Prior clinical research, IDS, specialty pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or investigational drug management experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of investigational product accountability and regulatory documentation preferred
- Experience with CTMS, IRT/IxRS, or clinical trial technology platforms preferred
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple studies and priorities in a fast-paced research environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
