Your responsibilities will include:Case Management: Manage a caseload of real estate cases, including: Consumer litigation related to real estate transactions, including disputes regarding sellers, brokers, or agents for failure to disclose, misrepresentation, or breach of fiduciary duty.Real estate transaction consulting and representation.Foreclosure defense.Property disputes.Easement and land-use matters.Landlord/Tenant disputes.Transactional Work: Review and draft agreements, leases, easements, corporate agreements, and documents related to business formations. Handle various real estate and business transactions.Legal Proceedings: Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and depositions, providing exceptional legal representation.Discovery and Legal Drafting: Develop and implement discovery plans, draft pleadings for litigation matters, respond to discovery requests, and bring, oppose, and argue dispositive motions for assigned cases.Client Communication: Provide updates to clients regarding the status of their cases and advise landlords in the eviction process.Team Leadership and Task Management: Guide and manage tasks for staff members and paralegals/legal assistants on your team.Billing: Meet and exceed billable hour requirements, demonstrating a robust work ethic and commitment to client service.Your Profile:J.D. degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the California State Bar.1-3 years of relevant civil litigation experience, preferably in real estate law.Excellent writing and interpersonal skills, with high attention to detail.Proficiency with law firm technology and software tools, including but not limited to: Clio Manage.GSuite.Zoom.DialPad.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.Familiarity with California State and Federal Courts.Additional Desired Skills:Trial experience in state or federal bench/jury trials, administrative hearings, mediations, and/or arbitrations.Experience in real estate transaction litigation, failure to disclose cases, or easement or land use matters.Experience in Landlord/Tenant disputes.Business and transactional experience, including handling corporate agreements and business formations.Prior experience working in foreclosure defense or representing creditors or loan servicers/investors.Expertise in drafting easements, consulting in real estate transactions, and drafting and reviewing contracts, leases, joint ownership agreements, and both commercial and residential leases.Why Join Equity Legal:Be part of a visionary journey towards national expansion and cutting-edge service delivery.Engage in a flexible, rewarding work environment that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship.At Equity Legal, we foster growth and advancement, offering competitive compensation and health benefits.We are currently operating as a fully remote firm; however, the successful candidate may need to commute to our corporate office in San Diego County, as we may transition to a hybrid model in the future.Application Process:If you embody our values and have the experience to thrive in this role, please send the following:A cover letter.A copy of your resume.A writing sample (preferably points and authorities related to real estate or business litigation).Your desired salary/compensation requirements.Equity Legal is an equal opportunity employer. We are in search of a dedicated individual eager to grow alongside us, resonating with our core values, and passionately representing our clients. Salary : $115,000 - $150,000
