Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior EDI Coordinator to own and manage all aspects of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations in a high-volume retail, wholesale, and distribution environment. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role responsible for end-to-end EDI execution, including trading partner onboarding, EDI mapping, testing, certification, production go-live, and ongoing EDI support.The ideal candidate has 10 years of hands-on EDI experience, works independently with minimal supervision, and serves as the EDI Subject Matter Expert (SME) across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and manage day-to-day EDI operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of all inbound and outbound EDI transactionsMonitor EDI transaction flows and troubleshoot EDI errors, failures, exceptions, and reprocessing issuesDesign, build, maintain, and test EDI maps for ANSI X12 transaction sets including 850, 855, 856 (ASN), 810 (Invoice), 846 (Inventory), 940 (Warehouse Shipping Order), and 945 (Warehouse Shipping Advice)Lead EDI onboarding for new trading partners, including retailers, customers, vendors, carriers, and 3PLsCoordinate EDI implementation projects including requirements review, mapping, testing, certification, and production deploymentReview and implement trading partner implementation guides, routing instructions, and compliance requirementsAct as the primary point of contact for EDI issues, escalations, and partner communicationsPartner with internal teams including ERP, WMS, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and IT to ensure seamless system integrationSupport post-go-live validation, production stability, and ongoing EDI enhancementsMaintain comprehensive EDI documentation, including mappings, partner profiles, SOPs, testing results, and certificationsSupport retailer compliance initiatives, chargeback research, audits, scorecards, and operational KPIsRequired Qualifications10 years of hands-on EDI experience in a production environmentStrong expertise in EDI mapping, testing, troubleshooting, and trading partner onboardingDeep knowledge of ANSI X12 EDI standards (EDIFACT experience is a plus)Experience integrating EDI with ERP systems (e.g., AS400, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) and WMS systemsHands-on experience with EDI communication protocols including AS2, SFTP, FTP, and FTPSExperience using EDI platforms or service providers such as SPS Commerce, Cleo, IBM Sterling, TrueCommerce, MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar middleware toolsAbility to interpret and implement complex retailer and trading partner EDI specificationsStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and business stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting large retailers, big-box customers, or high-volume retail EDI environmentsBackground in consumer products, manufacturing, wholesale, logistics, or distributionExperience managing retailer compliance programs, chargebacks, routing guides, scorecards, and SLAsAbility to manage multiple EDI onboarding and testing projects simultaneouslyAdditional InformationThis is a hands-on EDI role, not a managerial or administrative positionRequires independent ownership, accountability, and executionOperationally focused role supporting retail, supply chain, and logistics EDI workflows
