How You’ll Contribute:
As an Application Developer III, you will play a key role in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications to meet business needs. This role collaborates closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality software solutions. You will also provide mentorship to fellow developers, promote best practices, and continuously advance your technical skillset.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and develop new applications and features based on business specifications.
- Perform application testing, debugging, and documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain and update existing applications to meet project requirements.
- Participate in code reviews and walkthroughs to ensure high-quality standards.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies, applying them to development efforts.
- Communicate project status and progress with team members and stakeholders.
- Support IT and other departments as needed and contribute to team success.
What You’ll Bring:
Education:
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science or a related field required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- 4–8 years of application development experience, depending on education level.
- Prior experience in the insurance industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language (Java or .NET).
- Working knowledge of an additional programming language.
- Strong understanding of SQL and database query languages.
- Proficient in using version control tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
- Self-directed, reliable, and highly organized.
- Collaborative and committed to inclusive team environments.
Where You’ll Work:
- Location: West Des Moines, Iowa
- Office Location: Mostly Off-Site; occasional off-hours support may be required.
- Expected Travel: Less than 5%
