Actuarial Intern Program
Each summer, Equitable invites a select group of diverse and talented college students to learn from our actuarial team. In addition to leading an actuarial project, you will:
- Improve your soft technical skills through various rotating trainings offered.
- Research and collaborate on an actuarial topic that you will present to the senior leadership team.
- Work with a mentor to enhance your knowledge and learn how to work in an office setting.
- Learn about structure and responsibilities of Finance departments such as Accounting, Investments, Actuarial, Treasury and others as part of the Finance Speaker Series.
- Network with developing actuaries and more senior members at various group events throughout the summer.
Internship Details
- Hourly rate: $25/hour
- Date: Nine weeks starting early June 2026
- Location: Charlotte, NC or New York, NY
- Work Environment: Flexible (2-3 days per week in the office may be required)
- Housing: Intern housing available, for Charlotte location (and non-local hires)
- Currently attending/enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
- Ability to think creatively, communicate clearly and work collaboratively
- Ability to work the full duration of the Internship Program
- Passing of 1 actuarial exams
- 3.5 GPA in relevant coursework: math, probability, statistics, computer science, finance, economics, data science or other math/finance/date-oriented courses
- Rising senior in undergraduate/graduate program
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high level of precision.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, project, groups or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Adapts and learns: Actively learns and adapts through experimentation when tackling new problems and situations, using both successes and failures to develop and learn.
