Behavior Technician
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing behavioral therapy and patient care to individuals in need both in center and in home. Your work will focus on supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges, particularly those in special education settings or with autism spectrum disorder.
Duties:
- Implementing prescribed skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction programs
- Collecting and graphing client data
- Writing progress summaries and session notes
- Submitting documentation in a timely manner
- Conducting preference assessments
- Assisting with functional assessments
- Collaborating with caregivers and external professionals
- Attending team and supervisory meetings
- Completing required training for professional development
- Assisting the BCBA with client materials, behavior assessments, and skill acquisition strategies
- Maintaining certification and participating in ongoing training
- Adhering to HIPAA guidelines to ensure client confidentiality
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Experience in behavior analysis or working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities (preferred).
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices and procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues, families, and individuals receiving services.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience in working with children (preferred)
- 40-hour RBT training (or willingness to obtain)
- 10-hour Lakeshore Trainings (or willingness to obtain)
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
