We’re hiring a Accounts Payable Specialist Lead at our Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO, and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction.
The Accounts Payable Specialist Lead manages all accounts payable transactions, including processing invoices, resolving disputes, requesting vendor credits, reconciling credit card accounts, preparing vendor payments, and creating client invoices. Key responsibilities also include training and assisting Accounts Payable Specialists, developing training programs, preparing monthly reconciliations using advanced Excel/Google Sheets functions (Pivot tables/Vlookups), entering journal entries, assisting with accounting projects, and providing backup to AP Supervisors. The role requires communicating with internal and external contacts regarding AP matters.

Primary Responsibilities
- Enter and balance accounts payable transactions
- Assist with various accounting team projects
- Support Finance and Accounting teams with recurring monthly spreadsheets using Excel, Google Sheets, Pivot tables and Vlookups
- Assist Financial administrators with help as needed
- Process accounts payable transactions
- Post all invoices into the accounting system
- Handle and resolve disputed invoices
- Request credits from vendors and reconcile company credit card accounts
- Prepare and reconcile vendor payments and create client invoices
- Develop and perform training programs in areas of specific subject matters
- Train new hires and assist with day-to-day questions from Accounts Payable Specialists
- Enter Journal entries to reclass expenses as necessary
- Provide back-up to AP Supervisors as needed
- Communicate with internal and external contacts regarding all matters of Accounts Payable
