What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder/Fabricator position at Equipment Service Professionals Inc.?
Equipment Service Professionals Inc. is a locally owned business that specializes in mobile heavy equipment repairs. We work on a variety of equipment including trucks, trailers, batch plants, scrapers, graders, cranes, and everything in between.
We are looking for a SKILLED, COMMITTED welder / fabricator to join our team. You will operate appropriate equipment in the field at the repair site. We have a shop, but most repairs take place on site.
Attention to detail and precision of measurements and applications is the number one priority of this position. The interview process will be set up to include time for a welding test.
This is a full time position. On occasion we have a job that may require you to come in early or stay late from time to time to get the equipment up and running for our customers. This can be discussed in further detail during the interview process.
Responsibilities:
· Work and communicate daily with management about repairs
· Drive to the job site (a work truck and welder will be provided)
· Determine the appropriate equipment and welding technique based on requirements
· Weld according to specifications
· Operate grinders, saws etc. to prepare materials and parts that must be used in the repair
· Weld components in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
· Repair machinery and other various pieces by welding parts or other components
· Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a welder & fabricator.
· Ability to communicate directly with the owner regarding custom in house weld and fabrication plans
· Ability to precisely execute custom weld and fabrication plans with minimal oversight
· Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (Stick & MIG are a must. TIG welding is a bonus)
· Experience using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, grinders, calipers etc.
· Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings when necessary
· Knowledge of relative safety standards and adherence to use of protective gear (helmet, gloves etc.)
· Intense attention to detail
· Some knowledge of heavy equipment and machinery (semis, trailers, scrapers etc.)
· Should have necessary physical strength to perform job duties such as lifting parts and using heavy tools and equipment
· Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather
· Good communication skills
· Professional certifications are a bonus
· Must provide your own hand tools (sockets, wrenches, pry bars etc.)
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· Must be able to pass drug test
Schedule:
· Full-time position working five days a week.
· Saturdays with overtime, as needed.
