What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Delivery Driver position at Equipment One Company?
Secures equipment by checking availability of equipment with shop (performs research to determine when unavailable equipment will become available);
Provides adequate notice to Rental and Branch Manager for upcoming equipment requirements;
Resolves customer complaints if necessary regarding transportation of equipment to or from customers location
Supports sales and marketing efforts by forwarding equipment inquiries to the sales group, and acting as a liaison in respect to product promotions and rental programs
Records and maintains lost rent logs
Reviews reports and provides regular feedback
Follows Standard Operating Procedures
Trains other employees as needed
May be responsible for other tasks, including assisting with stocking and maintaining shop displays, merchandise, loading and unloading equipment, dispatching, timekeeping, and/or performing basic maintenance to equipment
Represents the Company at factory, industry and company events, including meetings and training
Follows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adheres to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
Performs all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or vocational training/certification
Current unexpired and unrestricted Drivers license
CDL or ability to obtain one
Equipment rental industry experience preferred
Strong telephone and customer service skills
Some Night / Weekend work may be required
Ability to use good judgement, think quickly and solve problems
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Experience with business systems a plus
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a can-do attitude
Equipment knowledge or previous industry experience a plus
Personal appearance must be neat and clean and communication and behavior must be professional and respectful at all times
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear
Background check and pre-employment drug testing required
Certain positions require a valid driver's license and ability to meet requirements of the Company Driver Policy; the Company will review motor vehicle records annually for all employees for whom driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function or when employees must obtain and drive rental vehicles during the course of conducting company business
