We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Heavy Duty Trailer Shop Supervisor to lead our trailer repair and maintenance operations. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily shop activities, ensuring timely completion of trailer repairs and maintenance
- Lead a team of technicians, providing training, mentorship, and performance feedback to promote skill development
- Oversee the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of heavy-duty trailers, including mechanical systems, hydraulics, air brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems
- Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex issues on trailers
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Manage inventory levels for parts and tools necessary for repairs; coordinate procurement as needed
- Support customer service efforts by providing technical advice and updates on repair status to clients
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy equipment repair and maintenance
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including ABS brake systems, shocks & suspension systems, wheel alignments, welding, soldering, and tire service
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, equipment repair, and power tools operation
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics for truck drivers’ vehicles and heavy truck repair procedures
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience supervising or leading a team within a fast-paced shop environment
- Knowledge of safety standards related to air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, and heavy machinery operation
