WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Marketing & Communications Manager
PURPOSE of ROLE
Responsible for planning, development and implementation of Equip & Empower Ministries marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. Directs the efforts of the marketing and communications team and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Organization.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ KEY DUTIES
Strategic & Leadership
- Manage the development and execution of marketing and communication initiatives for Equip & Empower including, but not limited to, campaigns, product launches, sales collateral, social media presence, websites, public relations and internal communication.
- Responsible for developing, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive Marketing and Communications plan, and ensuring that it keeps pace with change that enables the organization to meet internal and external supporter needs as well as organizational objectives.
- Responsible for design, production and distribution of all organization publications and media applications, including website.
- Establish, own and drive a strategic internal and external communications strategy that positively affects employees’ and supporter’s understanding, engagement and commitment to our organizational efforts; resulting in an even stronger connection to the organization and leading to a return on investment.
- Manage brand delivery and consistency across all markets and product lines, ensuring that the organization’s desired image and culture are articulated well, both internally and externally.
- Actively lead, build and manage the Marketing and Communications Team including, but not limited to, graphic designers, writers, electronic media specialists and videographers to produce high quality materials on time and within budget.
- Determine which projects should be completed internally and externally.
- Manage relationships with outside vendors as necessary.
- Serve as main point of contact for In|Prov
- Drive continual process improvements and implement best practices to manage projects efficiently.
- Help ensure that the organization’s ‘DNA’, vision and mission are relevant and practiced.
- Develop and coordinate means to seek regular input from the organization’s key internal and external stakeholders regarding the quality of work and service provided.
- Regularly monitor trends and the communication work of other experienced ministries in order to help envision new ways to operate and improve.
- Lead by example and set the standard for professional behavior and excellence in work habits that support a positive and progressive work environment.
- Outwork strategy to maximize exposure and opportunity from television programming.
- Uphold, safeguard and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, integrity, corporate social responsibility.
Planning, Reporting and Budgeting
- Responsible for the achievement goals and objectives in line with the budget.
- Ensure that monthly reporting and analysis protocols are in place relating to these goals and objectives.
- Develop short and long-term strategies for Marketing and Communications, which monitors progress, ensures adherence and evaluates performance.
- Develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary for the smooth operation of the Marketing and Communications Team.
- Develop suggestions for systems and procedures necessary for the smooth operation of event marketing.
- Keep informed of developments within the field, as well as ministry trends.
Management
- Manage Marketing and Communications personnel, both salaried and volunteer, through recruiting, training, appraising, supervising, supporting, developing, promoting and mentoring.
- Maintain a culture that attracts, retains, motivates and values excellence in personnel both salaried and volunteer.
- Monitor the skills required for delivering services, developing successors and communicating organizational and functional direction to the team.
- Provide regular feedback, including documented performance management and quarterly employee reviews, addressing poor performance and nurture high performers.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS - Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
ESSENTIAL:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in leadership within Marketing/Communications field, preferably in an NGO or ministry environment.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing and communications.
- Strong leadership, creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent integrity and display of Christian character.
- Experience overseeing design and production of print materials and publications.
- Experience in developing and analyzing social media campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology, including word documents, email, electronic database management, and page layout.
- Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to increasing knowledge, understanding and practice of effective communication across both international teams and markets.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Good organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High degree of integrity; maintain confidential information; able to act with tact and discretion.
- Ability to present self well in look and manner.

DESIRABLE:
- Degree level qualification in a related field.
