Role Summary
As a transfer agent, we are hired by our clients to maintain records of investors and account balances. The transfer agent records transactions, cancels and issues certificates, processes investor mailings, and deals with other investor problems (e.g., lost or stolen certificates). A transfer agent works to ensure that investors receive interest payments and dividends when they are due, amongst other duties.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Entering data, run processes to update master records and scan the documents
- Visually inspecting the documents for any business and or customer risk, contamination and Medallion Guarantee stamp
- Validate medallion stamps using the industry website to identify lost/stolen medallions to mitigate fraud and potential claims to the business and complete pull requests for medallion annotations
- Handing incoming and outgoing mail to sort and open received mail
- Involves standing for extended periods of time
- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of thefingerson both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble papers
- Frequently subjected to interruptions, redirection from team leads
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate to high due to scanner machines and team members working in close proximity.
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviors:
- High School Diploma / GED, or higher
- 2 years of experiences in one or a combination of customer service, operations, financial services, accounting, business processing, analytical, financial, or clerical
- Excellent typing and 10-key skills
- Strong attention to details and accuracy skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and creatively while exercising sound judgement
- Solid problem solving skills
- Strong time management skills
- Must be able to effectively read, write and speak English
- Willing and able to work extended hours as needed
Compensation:
- $17.00 - $19.00 hourly
