Equine Veterinary Technician/Overnight 3 Nights a week

Join our dynamic veterinary team as an Equine Veterinary Technician, working overnight shifts three nights a week. This energetic role offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality care for primarily horses, in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You will assist veterinarians with critical procedures, provide treatments, and deliver exceptional animal care during overnight hours. Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with equine examinations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and animal safety
• Perform venous access procedures such as IV insertion and animal catheterization to facilitate medication delivery and fluid therapy
• Conduct laboratory work including phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology, and veterinary laboratory diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses
• Handle animal restraint safely during examinations and treatments, demonstrating animal handling expertise and knowledge of animal physiology
• Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical assistance and sample collection to prevent infections
• Operate medical equipment such as radiology devices, laboratory analyzers, and critical care monitors with precision and care
• Provide emergency veterinary care for critical cases, including emergency medicine protocols and intensive animal care management
• Assist with pet grooming, pet care routines, and client communication to ensure comprehensive service delivery
• Document all procedures accurately using veterinary software while maintaining detailed records of patient care
• Downtime Cleaning and stocking responsibilities

Requirements

• Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong background in animal husbandry and emergency medicine
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology specific to equine species
• Experience with general anesthesia, veterinary anesthesia monitoring, and critical & intensive care practices
• Skilled in laboratory techniques such as phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology (X-ray), and laboratory diagnostics
• Ability to handle horses confidently using proper restraint techniques; prior horse training or handling experience is a must
• Familiarity with medical equipment operation including radiology devices and critical care monitors is helpful is desired
• Excellent client communication skills combined with compassionate equine care abilities
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control protocols in a veterinary setting

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
