Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to provide operational safety leadership and support across multiple business units and project sites within a designated geographic region. This role is responsible for implementing, administering, and monitoring safety policies, procedures, and programs while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Safety Manager will lead safety initiatives, conduct training, perform audits, investigate incidents, and promote a proactive safety culture to prevent workplace injuries and occupational hazards. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to travel as needed to support operational requirements.
Job Responsibilities

Implement, administer, and enforce company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.

Ensure compliance with company safety requirements and project-specific safety protocols.

Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and site assessments to identify potential hazards.

Develop corrective action plans and monitor implementation to improve safety performance.

Create and deliver safety training programs, presentations, and educational resources for employees and management.

Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, equipment damage, and vehicle accidents.

Perform root cause analyses and recommend preventive and corrective actions.

Maintain OSHA logs, incident reports, audit documentation, and other required safety records.

Prepare safety reports, metrics, and summaries for leadership review.

Facilitate safety meetings, committees, and ongoing communication initiatives.

Notify leadership of incidents, injuries, OSHA-related activities, and provide on-site support when appropriate.

Mentor employees and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.

Assist with the hiring, training, and supervision of site safety personnel.

Participate in claims reviews and support post-incident follow-up activities.

Travel to project sites and branch locations as required.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience, preferably within telecommunications, electrical, or similar industries.

Proven leadership experience with a strong background in safety training and employee development.

BCSP certification required.

OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 certification required.

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.

Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and applicable state safety regulations.

Familiarity with Confined Space Entry standards (29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA) preferred.

CHST certification or equivalent is preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to travel as required to support operational and project needs.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to respond to emergency situations when necessary.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform inspections requiring walking, climbing, bending, squatting, kneeling, and repetitive movement.
