Job Summary
The Military Operations Data Engineer and Analyst provides critical analytical and technical support to automate and modernize force structure and personnel management systems. This position supports the Government's efforts to transform legacy processes into efficient, data-driven solutions that improve organizational visibility, decision-making, and operational readiness. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and implement automation tools, data models, and visualization dashboards supporting command-level briefings and enterprise decision-making.
Job Responsibilities

Support automation of legacy data processes related to force structure management, contractor accountability, and augmentation tracking

Design, develop, and implement data models, architectures, and workflows to convert raw data into actionable insights

Perform advanced data analysis, data wrangling, and visualization to support strategic decision-making

Collaborate with technical and human resources stakeholders to create automated systems for organizational charts, contractor databases, and data submission processes

Develop high-quality data visualization tools, dashboards, and reports for command briefings and enterprise-level discussions

Conduct user research, usability testing, and interface design improvements for data systems and visualization tools

Produce wireframes and prototypes using tools such as Axure RP, Figma, UXPin, or Sketch
-
Provide analytical and technical support for the Program Objective Memorandum (POM), Capability Assessment Process (CAP), and Execution (EXE) management functions
-
Apply design theories and UX/UI principles to improve usability and accessibility of data systems
-
Support combat development and force modification initiatives, as applicable

Maintain situational awareness of emerging technologies and data tools relevant to defense operations

Ensure compliance with all security, confidentiality, and data protection standards
Job Requirements

U.S. citizenship required

Active TS/SCI security clearance required
-
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, Operations Research Analyst, or similar analytical role
-
Demonstrated ability to perform data modeling, architecture design, data wrangling, and advanced data analytics

Proficiency in data analysis and programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
-
Experience working with Special Operations Forces (SOF), interagency working groups, national agencies, DoD agencies, combatant commands, or academic institutions
-
Familiarity with force structure management, personnel accountability, and human resources programs
-
UX/UI design experience, including user research, usability testing, and prototyping

Expertise with wireframing and design tools (e.g., Axure RP, Figma, UXPin, Sketch)

Graduate of a Command and General Staff College or Intermediate Level Education program

Strong multitasking and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and deliver efficient, effective solutions

Adaptability to learn and apply new analytical tools and technologies as needed
-
Experience as a combat developer or training in force modification preferred
Preferred Qualifications

Completion or pursuit of Defense Acquisition University certifications within 180 days of hire, including CLR 101, RQM 1010, CLR 151, CLR 250, and CLR 252 (or current equivalents)
