Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for circuit card assemblies (CCA) and module assemblies. This role works closely with design engineering and production teams to translate engineering requirements into efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes. The position supports the production floor through hands-on problem solving, continuous improvement initiatives, tooling development, and process optimization to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop manufacturing processes and production layouts for CCA and module assembly builds
- Interpret engineering prints and blueprints to create and implement production processes
- Collaborate with design engineering to support manufacturability and production improvements
- Provide direct support to the production floor and operations teams to resolve manufacturing issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and throughput
- Design, procure, and implement tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing processes
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures
- Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production planning and execution
- Evaluate equipment, tooling, and process performance and implement corrective actions as needed
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and quality issues
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable specifications, standards, and regulations
- Provide input to engineering teams regarding design for manufacturability and production efficiency
Job Requirements
- Strong experience in electronics manufacturing environments (CCA, PCB, SMT strongly preferred)
- Experience with cable and wire harness manufacturing is highly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications (including wire harness and circuit card level prints)
- Hands-on experience supporting production floor operations (not strictly design engineering)
- Experience developing and writing manufacturing processes and procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of tooling design, procurement, and implementation for manufacturing support
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and quality teams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
