Job Summary
The Design Engineer (Structural) supports the Structural Services Division by performing engineering design, analysis, and evaluation for a variety of construction and renovation projects. This role works collaboratively with licensed engineers and project teams to develop detailed structural designs, prepare construction documents, and ensure technical accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards. The Design Engineer will participate in all phases of project execution, from concept development to construction observation.
Job Responsibilities

Perform structural evaluations of existing buildings, components, and systems and prepare detailed engineering reports

Conduct structural design and analysis of footings, foundations, beams, columns, floor systems, and lateral bracing using materials such as reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and wood

Prepare bid specifications, contract documents, and construction drawings for new construction and repair projects

Conduct site visits and progress inspections, preparing clear and thorough construction observation reports

Perform inspections of structural damage and develop corresponding engineering analysis reports

Coordinate with inspectors, technicians, clients, and other project stakeholders to ensure project success

Manage project tasks, maintain documentation, and assist in overall project execution and delivery
Job Requirements

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Architectural, or Construction) with a concentration in Structural Engineering required
Work Experience

Experience in a construction or engineering office preferred
