CDL Driver - Class B (Home Daily)

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
Shift : 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Job Summary
The Class B Driver is responsible for safely operating a 26-foot flatbed truck to deliver water materials such as casting, pipe, and fittings to customer sites. This role is primarily driving-focused (approximately 80%) with limited warehouse support duties (approximately 20%). Deliveries typically involve travel of up to two hours one way, including navigation in urban and tight-access areas. The driver ensures timely, accurate, and professional deliveries while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate a 26-foot flatbed truck (automatic transmission) to complete scheduled deliveries
• Deliver materials including pipe, fittings, and water-related products to customer sites
• Unload or assist in unloading materials as required
• Ensure loads are properly secured and within legal weight limits
• Verify delivery tickets, obtain customer signatures, and document delivery completion
• Communicate regularly with supervisor throughout the workday
• Pick up customer returns and verify product accuracy for credit processing
• Collect local pickup purchase orders and return documentation as required
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Fuel vehicle as needed and report any mechanical issues or incidents
• Comply with DOT regulations and all company safety policies
• Maintain professional customer-facing communication and service standards
• Assist with warehouse duties when not driving, as needed
• Review completed deliveries with supervisor and ensure documentation accuracy

Job Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required
• Minimum of 1 year experience operating Class B vehicles
• Must have held a CDL for at least 1 year
• Must hold valid state-issued self-certification for non-excepted interstate operation
• Customer-facing experience required
• Comfortable using a smartphone for communication and routing
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle equipped with in-cab cameras
• Strong focus, safety awareness, and adherence to monitoring systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience driving in urban environments and tight-access delivery locations
• Prior experience in construction materials, plumbing supply, or industrial distribution delivery
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and material handling

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Work Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Class B CDL driving experience required
• Prior customer service or delivery experience strongly preferred

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
