About the role
We are looking for a Quantitative Research Analyst to join us in New York and play a key role in driving the growth of our Data & Analytics business. Our team transforms complex securities finance and market datasets into actionable insights that help hedge funds, broker-dealers, and buy-side clients enhance their trading strategies.
In this role, you will bring together quantitative research, financial markets expertise, and strong communication skills to create impactful research pieces, market commentary, and trading signals. You will help illustrate the value of EquiLend's data to hedge funds and other trading firms, ensuring our insights remain creative, trusted, and at the forefront of the market.
What you'll do
- Conduct quantitative research and design new analytics and trading signals derived from securities finance data, with an emphasis on hedge fund strategies.
- Write research pieces, thought-leadership articles, and data-driven flashes that bring EquiLend's datasets to life for clients.
- Synthesize large datasets using econometric and statistical methods to generate insights that influence client decision-making.
- Partner with sales and product teams to demonstrate how EquiLend's data can drive hedge fund and trading workflows.
- Deliver engaging client presentations and bespoke consulting analyses tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support the growth strategy of the Data & Analytics business by identifying new opportunities, building partnerships, and contributing to product development discussions.
- Collaborate with technology colleagues to ensure research outputs are scalable, accurate, and impactful.
What we're looking for
- 5 years of relevant experience in quantitative research, market data, hedge funds, or securities finance.
- Strong understanding of hedge fund strategies and their intersection with securities finance and trading.
- Strong experience working with SQL to manipulate, analyze, and extract insights from large datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling research and market insights.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex datasets into actionable analysis and client-facing narratives.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to spot opportunities, build partnerships, and help drive business growth.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients, sales, product, and technology teams.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a quantitative field; CFA or advanced degree is a plus.
