Position Summary: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing Equify Financial’s day-to-day operational execution across deal processing, servicing, and core business operations. This role ensures that transactions move efficiently from approval to funding and through the full servicing lifecycle, while maintaining operational discipline, scalability, and a high-quality customer experience. The COO partners closely with executive leadership but is not responsible for underwriting, accounting, or legal functions.

 

Key Roles / Responsibilities:   

  • Oversee end-to-end operational workflows related to deal processing, funding coordination, documentation flow, and servicing execution.
  • Ensure operational alignment between sales, documentation, servicing, asset management, and customer-facing teams.
  • Design, optimize, and scale operational processes to support growth in volume, complexity, and geographic reach.
  • Own operational performance metrics, including cycle times, throughput, quality controls, and service-level standards.
  • Partner with Technology and IT leadership to improve systems, automation, and integration across the lending platform.
  • Lead, develop, and manage operational leaders and teams, fostering accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish operational policies, procedures, and controls to support consistency, compliance readiness, and risk mitigation.
  • Support executive leadership in strategic planning, capacity modeling, and operational readiness for new products or programs.
  • Act as an internal problem-solver, removing bottlenecks and proactively addressing operational risks.
  • Ensure an exceptional borrower and dealer experience throughout the lifecycle of each transaction.

 

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in independent commercial, asset-backed finance or equipment finance environments.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing operations within a commercial lending or specialty finance platform.
  • Strong understanding of deal processing, funding operations, servicing, and portfolio lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to scale operations in a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional executive teams in regulated financial environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly analytical with a process-driven mindset and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.

 

Working Conditions:  

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 
  • Positions self to install equipment, including under desks. 
  • Moves throughout the building to access files. 
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.   
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.   
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.   
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers. 
  • This position is based in an office environment with standard business hours, with flexibility as required by business needs. Occasional travel may be required for leadership meetings, operational reviews, or strategic initiatives.
