Full-Time Commitment Required: You must be available, on-site, and working for the full duration of April 22-26, 2026 (preferred if you can commit to April 18-26, 2026)
Job Summary Equestrian Events, Inc. (EEI), producer of the world-renowned Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event (K3DE) is seeking a competition intern who will support the planning and execution of the K3DE. This unpaid role provides experience in event operations, assisting with rider and official communications, competition logistics, scheduling, scoring, and on-site support. The intern will work closely with the competition management team to ensure smooth and professional delivery of all competition elements while gaining valuable insight into the organization of a world-class equestrian event.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Conduct inventory of items, both indoors and outdoors, and develop system for tracking & management
· Assist the Competition Manager and staff with planning and coordination of competition logistics.
· Support communications with riders, owners, grooms, officials, and volunteers before and during the event.
· Help organize and distribute competition schedules, start lists, and results.
· Assist in managing entry paperwork, stabling assignments, and accreditation materials.
· Provide on-site support for competition operations, including scoring, timing, and stewarding needs. · Support competition-related hospitality and award ceremonies.
· Help troubleshoot and resolve issues during competition to ensure a smooth event experience.
· Perform general administrative duties, including data entry, filing, and office support, as needed.
· Other duties as assigned
· Represent Equestrian Events, Inc. professionally in interactions with participants, spectators, and partners.
Qualifications & Skills
· Current student or recent graduate in Event Management, Sport Management, Communications, or a related field.
· Strong interest in equestrian sport and event operations; prior horse show or competition experience a plus.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new software.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
