What are the responsibilities and job description for the ES Teaching Assistant 26-27 position at Equality Charter School?
Equality Charter School, founded in 2009, will expand upon its success in grades 6-12 and open Equality Charter Elementary School in the Fall of 2024. Equality Charter Elementary School (ECES) will enroll scholars in grades K-1 in the Fall of 2024 and continue to expand through grade 5 making Equality Charter School one of the largest independent charter schools serving grades K-12.
Equality Charter Elementary School is delighted to begin our search for two key roles - founding ECES K-1 Teaching Assistants ! ECES is seeking "can do", "roll up your sleeves", “above and beyond is the norm” team players who are up for the job of founding teacher. A founding staff member must be someone who is very comfortable with adapting to change, as we anticipate the realities of opening a new school. Most importantly, our founding team members must epitomize our mission, vision and values to serve as brand ambassadors for our community and families, models for our scholars, and accountability partners for one another.

Role:
- Experience to help you determine if a teaching career is right for you
- Prioritizes small group support within the classroom setting - reading, writing, and/or math support.
- Support of scholar lunch and elective periods.
- Attendance at professional development sessions to support continued growth.
- Working alongside an experienced teacher.
Teaching Assistants Qualifications
- Currently participating in an undergraduate-level education program
- Intending to pursue a Teaching Assistant Certification
Starting salary is $35,000.
