As an Emergency Management Specialist at the GS-0089-12/13, you will be part of the Security and Safety Division (SSD), Office of the Chief Financial Officer, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). If selected, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the EEOC's emergency preparedness and continuity of operation programs for the EEOC Headquarters and 53 Field Office locations.
Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level.
For the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level that demonstrates expert knowledge of COOP and emergency management principles, laws, and regulations, including developing, implementing, and evaluating complex continuity and emergency management programs; serving as a technical authority on mission essential functions and disaster recovery; resolving highly complex or controversial operational issues; coordinating with senior leadership and interagency partners; and interpreting broad or incomplete guidance to recommend policies, procedures, and corrective actions.
