Job Summary
The Quality Engineer will ensure fully conforming products are sourced and delivered to EQI's customers globally. Focused on quality assurance activities, this role will utilize tools such as APQP, PPAP, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, ECNs, Process Change Requests, and supplier/customer quality scorecard management.
This position reports directly to the Quality Manager in the US and supports EQI's Global Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- ISO 9001 Management Rep: Lead the management review process, oversee domestic EQI facilities, and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Communicate customer quality requirements effectively to the global supply chain.
- Verify supply chain compliance during APQP/PPAP processes.
- Provide leadership in document control, implementing best practices in change management.
- Mentor the EQI Quality Team in core competencies.
- First-responder to customer quality issues, ensuring timely responses and data-driven issue resolution.
- Facilitate the 8D process, track corrective actions, and drive closure.
- Monitor EQI's quality performance at the customer level, reporting relevant information to management.
- Track cost of non-conformances (cost of poor quality) at the customer level.
- Report Monthly Quality Metrics for EQI US and Global Operations.
- Implement best practices and lessons learned across the supply chain.
- Provide on-site customer and supply chain support, as needed.
- Support specification review, approval, distribution, and training processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year accredited college or university.
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Proficient in print reading and interpretation, part measurement, and AIAG standards.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Familiarity with supplier quality standards, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate quality problems and apply sound technical judgment.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills to lead, motivate, and facilitate others.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and effectively organize and plan.
- Ability to travel an estimated 15%-20% as needed.
